Professional rotational mold manufacturerRotational molding is a branch of plastic processing industry. Therefore, rotational molding mold is also a kind of plastic mold. The basic requirements of plastic mold design and manufacturing are also applicable to rotational molding mold. At the same time, due to some characteristics of rotational molding process, there are still many differences in the design and manufacture of rotational molding die compared with other plastic processing methods. Whether the design and manufacture of a pair of rotational mold is successful depends not only on whether it meets the design and manufacture requirements of plastic mold, but also on whether it meets the following design and manufacture requirements of rotational mold.
1. The die structure is reasonable, the opening and closing of the die is convenient, the insert is easy to operate, and the production efficiency is high.
2. The selection of molding materials is appropriate, and the mold has high strength, not easy to damage and long service life.
3. The mold has moderate wall thickness and rapid heat transfer and cooling, which is conducive to efficiency, energy saving and product quality.
4. The cavity is smooth, and the internal dimension of the die is not smooth, and the die does not meet the requirements of the production process.
5. The design and manufacturing cost is reasonable, and the cost performance of the mold is high.
Of course, for mold manufacturers, the characteristics of rotational molding process often make mold design and manufacturing in a contradictory situation. It is very difficult to fully meet these requirements. Usually, we can only find an optimal balance in these requirements. For example, in order to improve production efficiency, it is necessary to make the wall thickness of the mold as thin as possible, so that the mold can conduct heat quickly, so that the heat can enter and leave quickly, at the same time, it can reduce the overall weight of the mold, save energy and slow down the loss of equipment. However, if the die wall thickness is too thin, it will lead to insufficient strength of the die, difficult to bear the repeated impact of various forces in the production process, easy to deform and damage, and greatly reduce the service life of the die. This requires that the design of rotational molding die should comprehensively consider the above factors, give a more reasonable scheme, and design a die with moderate wall thickness and high strength. This situation is often encountered in the process of mold design and manufacturing.
